Timber Machining

We are currently running two 7-head planers and one 6-head planer, all equipped with up to date gear from universal spindles to multi-rip saws. We can machine any species to any profile. Our core business is to provide to the New Zealand market but we also have had some international recognition. Our only limitation is the imagination where it’s the quality that matters and the service which counts.

Band re-sawing

Our big 42” band re-saw has been modified to handle the strongest timber species commercially available, such as African species like Tonka and Iroko. Standard hardwoods like Vitex and Kwila are a breeze. However, we also make a perfect bandsawn finish on the more delicate species namely cedar, pine and macrocarpa.

Kiln drying

We have two 50 cubic metre capacity kilns. We typically dry native as well as imported timber from 25mm to 50mm. The dehumidification system we use takes some time but is one of the safest procedures with minimal degrade. We also offer an air drying service filleting timber which is stored in our yard.

Sanding

We also offer a sanding service with our high speed belt sander for many of our profiles. Generally our machine provides an acceptable finish however, if a sanded finish is specified, we can provide.

Timber dressing

At Botica Timber, our timber dressers take raw timber and turn it into perfectly smooth, ready-to-use material.

Timber laminating

At Botica Timber, our timber laminating services are all about combining strength and style. We bond layers of timber with precision to create stable, long-lasting panels that hold their shape and look exceptional.

End matching

We have acquired a MVB endmatching machine, one of our newest additions to the fleet. It is fully automated, controlled with a PLC system. We can now offer to endmatch your T&G flooring up to 230mm wide which reduces the wastage of your timber at a reasonable price.

Blade Grinding

We have two in-head profile grinders in-house to create the knifes for custom jobs we design or re-create. We have acquired a Roundamat 960, the most advanced cutting edge technology to keep up with the high standards of today's market.

Timber oiling

At Botica Timber, we offer timber oiling for timber that needs a finish you can trust. Oiling helps protect timber, deepen the natural grain, and give it that warm, lived-in look people love. Whether it’s for interior features or outdoor timber like decking or stairs, we apply oil with care so the finish looks consistent and performs properly.
